Session #: 717-606
Presenter(s): Steve Andreas, M.A.
Session Length: 2 hr. 00 min. Event: 2007 Networker Annual Symposium Date: March 15-18, 2007
Clients can make terrific changes in your office, but that doesn't mean they can take those potentially transformative new attitudes and behavior back into their homes and work settings. Neither can therapists always incorporate the new insights, approaches, and techniques they learn at workshops into their daily clinical practice. In this experiential workshop, you'll learn multiple ways to transfer new skills and behaviors into familiar contexts. We'll explore how to use rehearsals and scenarios of future events to systematically link your new skills to your regular practice so that they'll occur spontaneously and dependably in sessions when you're back in your office. You'll also learn how to overcome the natural reluctance to try out new skills in session and how to present your new ideas and approaches to your clients with persuasive confidence.
