Session #: 717-405
Presenter(s): Danie Beaulieu, Ph.D.
Session Length: 2 hr. 00 min. Event: 2007 Networker Annual Symposium Date: March 15-18, 2007
What do the advertisers of Coca Cola, Marlboro cigarettes and McDonald's know about memory that therapists don't? How can you grab people's immediate, focused attention, stimulate their memories, and change their behaviors, even long after a message has been delivered. This workshop will demonstrate dynamic and enjoyable methods therapists can use to make a vivid impact on clients, enhancing their ability to retain insights between sessions and to put their insights to active use in their daily lives. Participants will learn the basic principles of memory retention and concrete techniques for incorporating these principles in therapy. They'll also learn ways to create "memory anchors," which help clients stay on track between sessions.
