Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) seems a natural fit for most children suffering from anxiety--providing a simple, straightforward way of understanding their problem and systematic, concrete steps for solving it. Still, even with as practical and "user-friendly" method as CBT, there's a big difference between using it to work with children and with adults. And, as with any other method, there has to be a good fit between tools and expectations, on the one hand, the age and maturity of the child, on the other. In this workshop, you'll learn how to fit your CBT intervention to the developmental level of the child. By workshop's end, you'll know when to give children explicit advice, when and how to teach them to use self-talk and relaxation techniques, what dos and don'ts to keep in mind, and more.
