Is the regular use of Internet porn an addiction or just an opportunistic entertainment? Are married men who use it being "unfaithful" to their wives? Is it in the same category as prostitution? In this workshop, we'll explore this phenomenon of Internet porn, which is easily accessible, but often used in isolation and secrecy, creates a fantasy world, and can cost the user a great deal of money. We'll talk about its appeal as a stimulating, soothing, and ostensibly "safe" activity, used mostly by husbands, that nonetheless can leave the wife feeling betrayed and the marriage severely harmed. You'll learn a variety of treatment approaches, including medications, sex therapy, group therapy, and the importance of helping the couple both acknowledge the damage Internet porn does to marriage and acquire some perspective on it. This is a huge social issue and far bigger problem than most people realize.
