Session #: 717-227
Presenter(s): Diane Poole Heller
Session Length: 2 hr. 00 min. Event: 2007 Networker Annual Symposium Date: March 15-18, 2007
The quality of presence therapists bring to sessions has a huge influence on their clients' ability to sense their own core intactness in the face of distress. This all-day institute by a practitioner of Somatic Experiencing will introduce you to gentle, effective awareness practices that'll help you notice your own activation level in sessions, ground your awareness in your body, and clear fear, anxiety, and anger from your nervous system. Through experiential exercises, live demonstrations, and group discussions, you'll learn how to give your clients the safety, present-time focus, and connection they need to get in touch with their own innate healing capacities. You'll come away with practices to help you develop a quietness within, so that you can take in new experience during a session and sense the natural rhythm of energy contraction and expansion within your clients. (This session will continue with Workshop 327.)
