As neuroscientists discover more about the deeply social nature of the brain, we're moving toward remarkable insights about how we influence each other's mental states. A therapist's own wholeness and capacity for awareness--what neuroscientists call neural integration--is turning out to be more important than we ever realized. This session will help you draw on seemingly unrelated knowledge domains, such as meditative practice, attachment theory, mind-body awareness, and neuroscience, to promote deeper levels of healing and neural integration in yourself and in your clients. We'll pay special attention to how "mindsight"--the interweaving of insight and empathy--improves emotional self-regulation, attuned communication, and mental well-being. You'll leave feeling able to dive deeply into all nine aspects of your own neural integration, and more capable of creating the interpersonal foundation for healing in others. (This session will continue with Workshop 321.)
