Good supervisors do more than give good advice or tell novice therapists what they're doing wrong: they establish a trusting relationship in which supervisees can experience healing and growth, both personally and professionally. In this workshop, we'll explore how to use the principles of Imago Relationship Therapy to help supervisees understand and overcome the hidden belief systems--often stemming from childhood losses or traumas--that can get in the way of their work. There'll be video clips showing a therapist working with a couple and the supervision process afterward, demonstrating how Imago can be used to help clinicians see the connections between problems in sessions with "stuck" clients and long-forgotten issues in their own past. You'll also learn how to use Imago to guide therapists through the steps necessary to achieve insight into themselves, discard outmoded and constricting belief systems, and become more confident and assured.
