Session #: 726-603
Presenter(s): Ofer Zur
Session Length: 4:00 hr. Event: 2006 Networker Symposium Date: October 19-22, 2006
In our litigious age, more and
more clinical decisions in therapy are
based on fear of lawsuits and dread of
licensing board censure, rather than on
clients' needs. This workshop will help
you reduce unnecessary anxiety while
helping you bring more spontaneity
and clinical integrity back into your
practice. We'll explore creative ways to
work with specific ethical
issues, including selfdisclosure,
professional
boundaries, doing therapy
outside the office, and
dual relationships. You'll
learn how to deal with the complexities
brought about by e-mails, computers,
the Internet, and online therapy. You'll
come away knowing how to practice
from a position that's more firmly
grounded in ethical principles and
decision-making, but which doesn't
compromise your best clinical
judgments or therapeutic creativity.
