512 While chronic pain affects every aspect of an individual's life--physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual--treatment rarely addresses all these levels. This experiential workshop will offer a comprehensive approach that addresses each level and challenges the unspoken myths about people who suffer from chronic pain. A therapist will discuss chronic pain's psychological impact on both individuals and their families and a bioenergy consultant will explore the nonphysical channels of healing in the energy body. We'll discuss the grief and loss that clients in chronic pain must deal with, the therapeutic role of support groups, and the 6 stages of emotional response to chronic pain. Through guided imagery, taped interviews with patients, and discussion, we'll examine a comprehensive model for helping clients in chronic pain.
