308 Despite the impact of managed care, brief-therapy approaches, and psychopharmaceutical treatments, the spiritual dimension of deep healing from loss and trauma has become an increasingly important frontier in our field. This experiential workshop will explore the power of encouraging clients to befriend their dark emotions, such as fear, grief, and despair, within a body-focused spiritual framework. Participants will learn concrete methods for creating a sanctuary in the treatment room where clients can learn to mindfully surrender to emotions in the body and explore the spontaneous imagery that arises. These methods further patience with suffering and can promote profound transformation.
