Session #: 714-215
Presenter(s): Enid Haller
Session Length: 2hr. 00 min. Event: 2004 Networker Symposium Date: March 4-7, 2004
215 Today, much of the controversy about diagnosing and treating children and adults with attention deficit/hyperactive disorder (AD/HD) results from out-of-date information. This experiential workshop will present the latest research and clinical thinking about the causes, diagnosis, medication, and treatment of children, teens, and adults with AD/HD. Participants will learn about the most accurate neuropsychological tests for both children and adults; how to help clients of all ages function adequately in social, academic, and work environments; and how to work with couples in which one or both have AD/HD. The presenter will demonstrate or discuss specific treatment approaches, including coping skills, relaxation techniques, organizational methods, and task-completion skills, as well as alternative treatments, such as neurofeedback, nutrition, homeopathy, and play therapy.
