518 With explosive couples, the temptation is to focus on the content of the problems they complain about?money, sex, jealousy, kids, or communication?and ignore the deeper issues at the center of their unhappiness?each partner's betrayal of his or her own internal value system. This experiential workshop will demonstrate how violations of core values lead to mutual resentment and self-hatred. You'll learn a method for helping clients easily and powerfully access their core values and find ways to connect their behavior to their deepest inner commitments. The presenter will also show how to interrupt conflict by teaching self-soothing skills, blocking mutual devaluation, and challenging resentment as a way of life.
