429 Part 1 - In flow, according to Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, "The ego falls away. Time flies. Your whole being is involved and you're using your skills to the utmost." Does that sound like your typical day at the office? In this workshop, you'll learn what 40 years of research can tell you about strategies therapists can use to maximize their own experience of flow in their lives and in the therapy process. You'll learn how to become more sensitive to your internal feedback, so you can notice when you're out of flow; how to establish small goals, so you can refocus and be more present; and how to ramp up or reduce the challenge of any situation, so you can maintain maximum engagement. We'll also discuss how to teach clients to make use of the principles of flow in their own lives. (This session will continue in Workshop 529.)
