419 Many talk-oriented clinicians are discovering that once they bring the body into their work, a new source of energy and wisdom becomes available. But how do you get beyond the generic question "Where do you feel that in your body?" This workshop will give you some body-oriented tools for enhancing your clinical effectiveness. You'll learn a powerful method for resolving ambivalence called the somatic dialogue, which extends bodily awareness and helps clients tap different sources of somatic knowing. In addition, you'll learn how to include the body in making initial assessments through the developmental edge, a method for more clearly determining a client's level of psychological development. By assessing the client's developmental edge in their bodies, clinicians are able to match treatment with their clients' level of psychological development.
