311 There are no magic-bullet cures for poverty and the limited opportunities within inner-city communities. This workshop will examine the Community Family Therapy model, an approach that mobilizes client and community resources for the empowerment of clients and therapists alike. You'll learn how clinicians can step out of self-imposed isolation by networking with community organizations, agencies, ministers, nurses, teachers, and social advocates. You'll discover tools that'll give these clients an opportunity for personal transformation and self-actualization in spite of their difficulties. Participants will leave with strategies for working more effectively with schools, churches, and community agencies, along with new therapeutic coaching techniques and a command of a broader, more strategic approach to the issues confronting poor families.
