304 Viewing affairs as a couple's attempt to break out of their constricted emotional life provides a basis for positive change. This workshop will demystify the challenge of helping couples heal in the aftermath of an affair by identifying the three fundamental issues couples face and presenting a practical guide for dealing with them. First, the presenter will demonstrate a structured decision-making process to help the betraying partner reveal the secret of an affair to the betrayed spouse. Then, we'll explore how to help obsessive partners who "need to know everything" redirect their response to being betrayed, including instances when previous traumas have been triggered. Finally, we'll discuss how to help couples use the crisis of infidelity to develop a fuller, richer relationship with each other.
