302 Rather than being valued, expressions of spiritual experiences by children are often mistaken for signs of psychological dysfunction. Yet these experiences, when understood and drawn out, can provide children with immense strength, comfort, and wisdom. Based on the latest research on children's spirituality, this workshop will demonstrate assessment tools to help clinicians tap into a child's inner spiritual life and distinguish between psychological symptomatology and emerging spiritual awareness. We'll explore a framework for understanding the innate spiritual styles of kids, concrete ways to access the child's ultimate concerns explicitly, and methods to help children begin to articulate the spiritual dimensions of their lives.
