Session #: 718-510
Presenter(s): Charlotte Reznick
Session Length: 2 hr. 00 min. Event: 2008 Networker Annual Symposium Date: March 13-16, 2008
Children and adolescents often can tap into their imaginations to help them understand their feelings, solve problems, and strengthen their self-esteem far more readily than adults can. In this experiential workshop, the presenter will demonstrate innovative techniques of guided and interactive imagery, enhanced by music, relaxation skills, drawing, and journal writing, to help children relieve stress, overcome anxiety and fears, increase concentration, decrease anger, and develop self-worth. You'll learn a wide range of healing-imagery tools, including finding a special inner peaceful place, meeting inner guides, checking in with the wisdom of one's heart and belly, and using color and energy for self-healing. We'll review current knowledge about the use of imagery with children and adolescents and identify the physical/psychological issues with which imagery is most useful and appropriate as a therapeutic tool.
