Session #: 718-414
Presenter(s): Robert Hedaya
Session Length: 2 hr. 00 min. Event: 2008 Networker Annual Symposium Date: March 13-16, 2008
The treatment of depression often fails because the focus remains too narrowly on either psychopharmacology or the exploration of purely emotional and psychological issues. This workshop will present a broader, systemic approach to depression and other affective disorders that works with the brain and the body's immune, hormonal, nutritional, and gastrointestinal systems. We'll examine lifestyle issues related to the problem, including stress, exercise, and sleep. Participants will learn how to use this approach to complement traditional treatment and prevent relapse—a pivotal issue in all treatment of depression.
