Many of us yearn to put our skills to work in the broader world beyond our own offices. But how do we go about doing it? In this workshop, three veteran therapists will describe a range of ways to expand the scope of therapeutic work, from helping people suffering the traumatic effects of natural and human-made disasters to dealing with human rights issues around the globe. We'll discuss issues faced by Westerners bringing interventions to nonindustrialized countries and how individual therapists can connect with nonprofit organizations to discover opportunities to expand the focus of their work.
